Do not eat or drink anything, including water, after midnight the night before your surgery.
Consult with our office about any routine oral medications prior to your surgery date.
If taking weight loss medications, please advise the office when making your appointment for special instructions.
Avoid smoking for at least 12 hours before surgery or, ideally, well before the day of surgery.
A responsible adult must accompany you to the office, remain during the procedure, and drive you home. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to all appointments and on the day of surgery.
Refrain from driving or operating machinery for 24 hours after receiving anesthesia.
Wear loose-fitting clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up past the elbow and low-heeled shoes with enclosed heels or a strap (no flip-flops).
Remove contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures before surgery.
Avoid wearing lipstick, heavy makeup, nail polish, or glued-on artificial nails (at least on the left index finger) on the day of surgery.
Notify the office if you develop any illness, such as a cold, sore throat, or stomach issues, before your procedure.
