Dr. James Leland Chrisman completed his dental school and residency training at the University of Tennessee Memphis College of Dentistry. He further honed his skills in a comprehensive four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Science. During his residency, Dr. Chrisman gained advanced training in anesthesia at the University of Tennessee Bowld Hospital and LeBonheur Children's Medical Center, he specialized in orthognathic and reconstruction surgery at Baptist Hospital and focused on maxillofacial trauma at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center.
He joined North Mississippi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in July 1994. From 1995 – 1998, Dr. Chrisman spearheaded the opening and development of our Corinth office before returning to Tupelo, where he currently resides.
Since completing his residency, Dr. Chrisman has pursued his passion for implant dentistry through specialized training and continuing education. Dr. Chrisman has a special interest in secondary reconstruction of cleft lip and palate deformities.

In the community, Dr. Chrisman is involved with the Orchard Church where he has held leadership positions and served over the years. He also volunteers his time at the Tree of Life Free Clinic, providing oral surgery services for individuals in need.

I had surgery today on a tooth extraction and a surgery around 14 years ago to remove wisdom teeth and correct my jaw line to break it and put plates and screws in it. I had a longer recovery with the surgery 14 years ago, but today was absolutely a breeze. The whole clinic was fantastic. Dr chrisman had the surgery done in about 30 mins and I was out the door so quickly! Can’t recommend this clinic enough.
