CS 9600 imaging system

We are always looking for ways to improve our oral and maxillofacial practice and provide even better care for our patients. That’s why we have invested in the CS 9600 imaging system from Carestream Dental. It features breakthrough innovations that enable us to scan our patients quickly, accurately and comfortably. The CS 9600 enables us to obtain the 2D and 3D images we need without sending patients to outside imaging centers.

This imaging system helps us properly position patients so that every scan captures exactly what we need, which can eliminate the need to rescan. If a follow-up scan becomes necessary in the future, the system remembers the positioning parameters from the first time, resulting in a shorter overall appointment.

The system captures images very quickly, allowing our patients to experience a fast, smooth scanning process. In addition, the system’s open design allows patients to either sit or stand during the scan, accommodating people of all sizes and physical abilities. Because they are more comfortable during the scanning process, patients are less likely to move and cause blurring, which can create the need to rescan.

We want to emphasize that we follow every precaution to minimize patient exposure to radiation whenever we obtain images for diagnosis and treatment. The CS 9600 addresses this issue and strictly adheres to the ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principle. The system’s high-power generator allows us to acquire high-quality images at a lower dose to the patient than other imaging systems.

The system also allows us to target the exact area for exposure so that other tissues around the mouth will not be unnecessarily irradiated—which is another way the system limits the patient’s radiation exposure.

The CS 9600 features one of the highest 2D and 3D image resolutions available, which provides us with an unprecedented level of anatomical insight and enables us to diagnose more confidently. The sharp, highly detailed and contrasted images provide patients with a unique view of their dental structures and helps them see exactly what our doctor sees. Patients can then feel more comfortable with their treatment decisions.

All these features and functions result in better information, safer scans and more informed diagnoses. We feel that this new imaging system helps us significantly enhance what matters to us most: Patient care.

We currently use the CS9600 in the Tupelo office and the Southaven office.

iCat Flex Cone Beam 3-D Imaging System

Our Corinth office enhances treatment planning and patient care with the advanced digital imaging technology of the i‑CAT® FLX. The i-CAT FLX is a Cone Beam 3-D dental imaging system that is capable of full 3D imaging at lower doses than traditional 2D panoramic imaging. Cone Beam technology is quickly advancing the dental industry’s leading approach to treatment planning and diagnosis. With a quick scan around the patient’s head, our doctors can now view 3-D patient anatomy to accomplish, more precise evaluation for predictable treatment results in shorter appointment times for the patient.

Using the i-CAT FLX, we obtain highly accurate and detailed three-dimensional views of all anatomies such as bone, teeth, tooth orientation, tooth and nerve relation, airways and sinuses.  This 3-D dental imaging is used for implant planning, TMJ and airway analysis, orthodontic and oral surgery planning, and to detect pathologies such as cysts and tumors.

We can now take an immediate scan for patients with lower radiation dosage than the most popular standard 2D imaging protocols. Once the scan is complete, We will be able to share an immediate visual diagnosis to help patients truly visualize and better understand treatment options. These pre-treatment scans are easily shared with referring doctors helping them perform less invasive procedures through increased precision, thus reducing risks for patients.
